Switching a Trial Account from Core to Pro
Did you start your TimeKeeper trial on the Core plan and want to check if Pro is a better fit? This guide shows you how to upgrade your account from a TimeKeeper Core Trial to a TimeKeeper Pro Trial, and explains the key differences between the two plans.
Core vs Pro: What’s the difference?
Locations (Core plan)
Used for fixed workplaces – e.g. office, warehouse, restaurant.
Staff clock in/out at a location (often via a shared kiosk).
You can add a geoboundary, but it’s mainly for recording where someone was, not strictly enforcing that they are on site.
If they clock in slightly outside the boundary, the clock‑in still works; you just see the actual GPS/address on the report.
Jobs (Pro plan)
Used when staff move between sites and you need to track time per job/client.
Staff clock into a specific Job when they arrive on site.
Jobs have geofencing: staff must be inside the geofence to clock in/out.
If they’re outside the fence, the clock‑in/out is blocked with an error.
So:
Location + geoboundary = fixed place, mainly for recording where clock‑ins happen.
Job + geofence = mobile/site‑based work where you want to enforce that staff are physically on site to clock in/out.
